Jacob is making a Homebound Delivery.

Have you wanted an item from the library but can’t physically get to us because of a medical or mobility issue? We can help! We offer a FREE Homebound Delivery Service to our patrons.

Homebound residents can receive materials they select themselves or they can let our professional library staff choose for them. Books, audiobooks, magazines, DVDs, and music CDs are just some of the items that can be delivered to patrons at their residence. If you’d rather a family member or friend retrieve your items instead of having them delivered, that can be arranged too! Items are loaned for 21 days. Renewals are allowed for items that are not on hold for someone else.

We do have a few guidelines for our program. You must have a library card in good standing and be either temporarily or permanently homebound. We have a form for you to complete that tells us your likes and dislikes. We’re happy to provide this service for our homebound patrons but ask that you don’t share your materials with anyone. Homebound patrons are responsible for the materials until returned. We don’t charge overdue fines for these loans but program participants are responsible for items checked out to them. They will be charged the replacement cost for all materials that are lost and/or damaged while in their care. Library materials are considered lost when they are 90 days overdue.

If this Homebound Delivery program sounds interesting to you or someone you know, please stop by or call your local library branch for more information. You can also learn more here. - Dione, Area Librarian
