February 2024: Blogging with Brittany

Do you love libraries? Of course, you do! You’re not a philistine!

Well, as Library Lovers’ Month, February is all about you. We’d love to get to know and feature your favorites. All month long, all of the branches in the LPPL system will offer a chance to promote your favorite book or book character. You can even feel free to show up dressed as your favorite character for a photo op to be displayed and, of course, admired. In fact, we’d like to encourage it. Love Sophie Hatter? Show up in your best staid gray dress. Enamored with Jane Austen? Don your best Regency era wear. We’d love to see your best Scottish attire for Outlander or your most creative Ms.Frizzle!

But, please, leave the magic school bus outside.

Whether or not you decide to dress up, we would love for you to come in to any of the branches and write your name on a lovely little heart-shaped tag for us to feature in our displays. This will not only show off your amazing taste, it can help other people who may be in a reading rut. So, really, by sharing your opinions, you’ll be benefiting humanity. Really, it’s your civic duty.

Aside from being an awesome reason to show off your best costumes and impress us with your recommendations, as you undoubtedly will, we are offering prizes to participants. That’s right! You can win stuff just by sharing your favorites with us!  After February has sadly ended, as all good things must, we will pull names from child, teen, and adult participants. For each branch!

So, just to recap, you get to save the world by giving your opinions, show off your most amazing outfits for your fans (that’s us), AND you get to potentially win amazing prizes. I mean, come on. This is a win-win-win situation!

Aside from our displays that will feature the most amazing book recommendations (because they are YOUR favorites), branches will feature a number of other programs that you, a library lover, can attend.

Some highlights from each branch include:
