Page Turner Adventures' shows always make a splash and we are excited to partner with them for Summer Experience 2022! Page Turner Adventures is bringing you four weeks of virtual content, five days a week, so there's something "fin-tastic" happening every day this summer!

HOW IT WORKS:

Page Turner Ocean Adventures virtual event runs for 4 weeks, 5 days a week (Mon - Fri) this summer. There's something new to enjoy every day of the premiere week!

Videos become available on their scheduled date at 11 AM & are available for viewing any time after the 11 AM premiere throughout the entire summer.

MONDAY, 5/30 - SHOW DAY
20,000 Books Under the Sea, Episode 1
The adventure begins at Page Turner’s mysterious lighthouse when Kenny accidentally releases Shelldon the Tale Snail. Our intrepid Storyologists, Cliff Hanger and Brook Mark, must travel to the Lost Library of Atlantis to find the only book that can stop Shelldon from devouring every story in the lighthouse. Cliff and Brook will have to rely on each other, the kids at home, and other Storyologists to solve ocean-themed clues that lead to the Lost Library. The Filipino folktale, “Why the Sea Is Salty”, and the original song, “Down Below”, help them on their way.
TUESDAY, 5/31 - CRAFT DAY
The Tale Snail
Using two paper plates, a bit of paint, lots of imagination, and of course a story for the hungry crustacean, everyone makes their own Tale Snail.

WEDNESDAY, 6/1 - AUTHOR DAY
Dan Yaccarino
Dan Yaccarino discusses his exciting picture book, The Fantastic Undersea Life of Jacques Cousteau, and shares details about Cousteau’s amazing life and love of the sea. Dan is the author and illustrator of numerous books for children as well as the creator and producer of animated television shows including Doug Unplugs, Willa’s Wildlife, and Oswald.
THURSDAY, 6/2 - RECIPE DAY
Happy-As-A-Clam Cookies
“Shellebrate” the sea by making Happy-As-A-Clam Cookies. These cookies are almost too cute to eat. Uh, almost!

FRIDAY, 6/4 - FIELD TRIP DAY
Harbor Branch Marine Mammal Rescue Program
Accompany Page Turner as she goes behind the scenes at FAU Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, one of the world’s premier ocean research centers. Page learns about their Marine Mammal Rescue Program and sees the “mambulance” used to rescue Winter, the dolphin featured in the book and film A Dolphin’s Tale.

MONDAY, 6/13 - SHOW DAY
20,000 Books Under the Sea, Episode 2
Our intrepid heroes Brook Mark and Cliff Hanger continue searching for clues that will lead to the Lost Library of Atlantis and the only book that can stop Shelldon the Tale Snail from devouring every story in the lighthouse. Traveling in their submarine, The Tardigrade, they head for the Great Barrier Reef in search of the next clue. Along the way, they find themselves trapped in the Bermuda Triangle and end up on a deserted island where they must decipher a message that is sent using flag semaphore code, the flag signals used by sailors. While trying to figure out the code, Brook and Cliff sing about communication in the original song “Common Ground."

Secret Sea Star
Turn an ordinary paper bowl into a stunning Sea Star that has a secret! SPOILER ALERT…Here’s the secret…Just like a live Sea Star, our paper bowl version has the incredible ability to regenerate limbs.

WEDNESDAY, 6/15 - AUTHOR DAY
Tina Cho
Author Tina Cho discusses her beautiful picture book, The Ocean Calls: A Haenyeo Mermaid Story. The story revolves around a young girl’s bond with her grandmother and the sea. It includes details about Korea’s centuries old tradition of “granny mermaids”, amazing women who fish by diving deep in the sea without using oxygen tanks.
THURSDAY, 6/16 - RECIPE DAY
Peanut Butter & Jellyfish
Tortillas, Twizzlers, and tentacles…oh, my! With just a few simple ingredients, kids can make a delicious, edible jellyfish treat.

Snorkeling Adventure
Accompany Page and Kenny as they go snorkeling with Dan Volker and Sandra Edwards in the pristine waters of one of South Florida’s finest snorkeling spots. For decades, Dan and Sandra have used video and photography to document underwater life. They serve as extraordinary guides on this virtual field trip.

MONDAY, 6/27 - SHOW DAY
20,000 Books Under the Sea, Episode 3
Our intrepid heroes Brook Mark and Cliff Hanger continue on their quest to find the Lost Library of Atlantis. But it gets a bit chilly as they follow the clues (and a pod of whales!) to the arctic where they gather enough information to solve more ocean riddles. On their return, they get stuck in The Great Pacific Garbage Patch where they learn things that we all can do to help keep the ocean clean and safe. Meanwhile back at the lighthouse, Kenny is still desperately trying to catch Shelldon the Tale Snail while Page shares a story about sea otters and a selfish shellfish that proves we all need each “otter."
TUESDAY, 6/28 - CRAFT DAY
Sock-topus Puppet
Using one old sock and some new imagination, an eight-legged puppet comes to life. This craft is good for the “sole”. (Wow, did we just make a fish and sock joke at the same time?)

Jarrett & Jerome Pumphrey
Brothers Jarrett Pumphrey & Jerome Pumphrey, discuss their evocative picture book titled The Old Boat, a follow up to their popular book The Old Truck. The Old Boat celebrates both family and the ocean as it addresses the need to protect the sea. They discuss what inspired the creation of their books and share an awesome illustration technique that kids can do at home.
THURSDAY, 6/30 - RECIPE DAY
Fish Cakes
Create a work of art that tastes as good as it looks and it looks great! This tempting treat is part recipe and part art project.

A Visit with Octo-Girl
Join Page Turner as she visits with Chelsea Bennice aka Octo-girl, one of the world’s preeminent experts on octopuses. Chelsea introduces some of her eight-legged friends and tells us fascinating facts about these amazing animals.
