The Lafourche Parish Public Library, thanks to some creative and tech savvy teens, has been named Louisiana's 2013 Teen Video Challenge winner. The Teen Video Challenge is a national competition for teens to get involved with reading and their public library's summer reading program. Teens Juan Avila and Esteban Avila's video "Down Gator's Hole," which features the library's mascot Garcon, was chosen to represent Louisiana in the national Teen Video Challenge. Their winning video, filmed at the South Lafourche Branch, will compete against winners in 25 other states. To view the library's video (and other states' winners), visit http://www.cslpreads.org Congrats and good luck to Juan and Esteban. |
