Lafourche library branches to close for holidays
The Lafourche Parish Public Library will be closed on December 9, 24, 25, 26, 31, and January 1 for the holidays. The library website will be available for 24-hour access to ebooks, audiobooks, digital magazines, movies, and research materials available for download.
Raceland Branch Library to host holiday social
Drop by the Raceland Branch Library, 177 Recreation Drive, to celebrate the season at the library's Christmas social at 4:00 p.m. on December 10. Bring your camera to take photos with Mrs. Claus. This program is free and open to the public.

Learn about geography in a big way with the National Geographic Giant Traveling Map
National Geographic's Giant North American Traveling Map will make stops at the South Lafourche Public Library, 16241 E. Main Street in Cut Off, in December and the Thibodaux Branch Library, 705 W. Fifth Street, in January. Children and families are welcome to drop by to explore the giant map and learn more about the continent in a big way. The map is expected to arrive at the South Lafourche Public Library on December 10 and at the Thibodaux Branch Library from December 27 to December 30. It will remain at both branches for about two weeks.
